So we’re watching Gustav coverage feverishly because we have family there, and this anchorwoman told us that Tulane University Hospital would become the trauma center for the casualties. Umm…..I think the trauma center will be a little too late to help any CASUALTIES. Ooooopsss….HAHAHAHAHA

My good friends’ months old baby has a tumor. My friends who practically killed themselves and practically went broke to have this baby. Some kind of vascular tumor behind her eyes, non-life-threatening but apparently she could lose her sight. I can’t even imagine.

OMG it’s flippin PERFECT for me. I live and breathe by my Google calendar, and I can automatically synch it with my Blackberry calendar and vice-versa. Plus my Windows-based device wouldn’t let me watch video and with this I can gawk at Lindsay Lohan on TMZ all I want! Hooray!!

Motherhood and Stuff 10:16 am
John woke me up last night shaking the bed with uncontrollable shivering and pain in ALL of his joints. We put him in the tub and finally got him warmed up. He went back to sleep but is still achy. The weird thing is no fever, not even a suspicion of a fever.
He feels mostly better today, just still sore so I guess I won’t take him in to the doc yet. My hero ;-(
UPDATE well he took a Vicodin early this morning which contributed to his feeling better and then he started to feel ooky again, so I let him have another Vicodin but tomorrow he has to go to the doc. Damn it all. I hope he’s OK. He says it feels like the flu but how can it be the flu with no fever or other symptoms?
UPDATE got really bad again today and ended up going into the ER, where they gave him a SPINAL TAP to check for viral MENINGITIS. Holy $h1t! He does NOT have meningitis, thank God, but it IS viral, so he can’t do anything but take Vicodin and wait it out under warm blankets. At least they gave him a refill. Whatever they gave him in his IV seems to be helping for the time being tonight. WOW.

So a couple of nights ago he came home with a “reading” assignment that looked like something he did the first week of KINDERGARTEN, not first grade, like with three or four words on each of two pages and that was it.
Last night it was about rhyming and identifying colors. I know we need to review, but this is ridiculous. He knew that stuff BEFORE he went to Kindergarten. I’m just not making him do it. It’s stupid. I initialed the paper anyway. Maybe he won’t tattle on me *evil grin*

So several months ago I got a T-Mobile Shadow. The inside LCD screen cracked and I subsequently learned that this is very common with the phone and not warrantied. John can fix it but he doesn’t want to fix it and have it break again.
So he gave me this stupid Sidekick 3 that someone had given him. It’s way too big and you can’t download anything onto it. As you can see in my lunch post, it takes horrible pics which is no good because my beloved Kodak P850 is broken. I think I might take it to see if it can be repaired locally. They want $150 to send it in. Oh, did I get off track?
I’M GETTING A NEW PHONE FOR MY BIRTHDAY!! Not another Shadow obviously. I was looking at the Wing, but then Lisa said she LOVES LOVES LOVES her Blackberry Curve. The girl knows phones. She goes through them like she changes underwear. The Curve is also a much better deal with T-Mobile, so I have taken the dive and ordered a Blackberry!!!
I just hope I don’t miss Windows Mobile, but as much as I loved it, it has its own problems too. My phone’s been on the UPS truck since 7:30 this morning, and I’ve been waiting this whole time with bated breath. AAAAAAGGGHHH so impatient!
